It was a pop culture movement in
the United
Kingdom that began as a nightclub scene around 1979 and
peaked around 1981. Developing in London and Birmingham, at
nightclubs such as Billy's and the Blitz, and
fashion boutiques such as PX in London and Kahn and Bell in
Birmingham, it spread to other major cities in the UK and was characterised by
flamboyant, eccentric fashion.

SPANDAU
BALLET
In the late 1970s the
Spandau Ballet group emerged. The group was formed by the decision to join five
friends, Gary Kemp, Tony Hadley, Steve Norman, John Keeble and Richard Miller.
The name of the group was taken from a poster of the German Prison of Spandau.
They began the
musical race little by little giving concerts in small premises. But their fame
increased in 1979, when they offered a miniconcierto to 50 followers of the
band.
The first record they
released was "Journeys to glory".
George Alan O'Dowd
known as Boy began his musical career in a group "Culture Club". They
had a hard time getting to fame, they got it with a quote that made up Boy
called "Do you really want to hurt me".

ADAM & THE ANTS
They were an English band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s fronted by Adam Ant. They first achieved considerable cult popularity during the transition from the punk rock era to the post-punk and new wave era and were noted for their high camp and overtly sexualised stage performances and songs.
BOY GEORGE

In 1985 Boy makes
declarations, counting that he is addicted to the heroine, thus making the band
to fall. They managed to clean the bad image that they had left throwing to the
market the album "From luxury to heartache", soon after it appears
dead in the house of Boy the musician Michael Rudetski, this made the group
dissolve definitively.
Boy decided to
continue on his own, despite having tried recording problems and having been
involved in drugs, he had a great success.
Although it caused a scandal there where it happened, Boy is considered an
icon of the decade of the 80’s.
